In 2008-9, a Ford Foundation grant supports expansion of the community land trust program to three local communities on Long Island, with a target of several hundred shared equity units over the next few years.

For years 2008-9 a grant from Citi Foundation supports development of community land trust  housing in the Village of Hempstead.

Principal financial support for projects in the Town of Islip 1998-2000 and for continuing institution-building work was  contributed by CitiGroup Foundation.

In 2002, Catholic Charities' Campaign for Human Development supplied a grant for the community organizing aspects of Learn by Doing in North Bellport.

Assistance has also been granted by Roslyn Savings Bank Foundation, Greenpoint Foundation, J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation, First National Bank of Long Island,  Ridgewood Savings Bank and Bank of New York

Law partners Kruman and Kruman, of Malverne, have generously lent office space and services in their office suite in which to grow the fledgling New Directions Institute.

Kinko's Copies of Huntington donated printing for the Lowell Avenue Neighborhood Profile and other documents.

Printing of various items has been contributed by First National Bank of Long Island, Citibank and Canon Copy Services.
